VIE of the
Year Lisa
Scheuer
Lisa Scheuer is an amazing talent that dedicates countless hours to JBD. Lisa is
a founding chairperson of the Fitness Club (started in 2010-11) and continued with this
enormous task in this school year as well. From tracking the students' miles up Mt. Everest,
to helping Mr. K. with the Shamrock Final Mile, to organizing guest speakers and sponsors, Lisa has
been instrumental in the Fitness Club's huge success. But wait, there's more!
Besides the Fitness Club, Lisa is a Room Mom and co-chairs for Beach Bash, Moving-on Ceremony,
Scholarship Fund, and the Strawberry Garden Club!

Cunningham
Many thanks to Mary Cardone whose hard work and planning makes the Pastries for Parents events such
a success. As a Chair of the Folders For Organization (FFO) and Saving for Seagulls PTA Board
Committees, Tammy Cunningham has gone above and beyond by assisting with science labs, library,
book fair, Lego Club and the first grade team.

MISSION STATEMENT
To promote the education and welfare of children and
youth in home, school and community.
To provide support to staff and faculty in a way that
will enhance the children’s learning environment.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of
children.
To support the national PTA advocacy
groups.
To bring into closer relation the home and the school so
that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of their
students.
To give every parent an opportunity to become more
actively involved in their children’s education.
