John B. Dey Elementary PTA is pleased to offer four - $500 Scholarships to Students
The Scholarships are in honor of Betty Ann Stepheson, Joan Melton, Lee Capwell, Lois Whaley and Kenneth Davis, Sr.
Applications for the 2021-2022 year are to be delivered to the JBD main office by 2:30pm on 3/17/2022
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS * Applicant must have attended John B. Dey Elementary School for at least two years and be a graduating VBCPS high school senior in good standing. * Award recipients must provide a letter of declaration from their selected University/College/Technical school.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES * John B. Dey Elementary School PTA will award scholarships in the amount of $500 each to three students who meet the eligibility criteria and have received the highest scores from our panel of judges based on answers to four criteria/questions. * All applicants will remain anonymous to our judges. * Applicants must provide one letter of recommendation. * Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered. * Completed application packets may be mailed or dropped off to the main office by To be announced in 2022 John B. Congratulations to the Recipients of the JBD PTA Scholarships during 2020-2021
Teacher Scholarship: Kailee Dressel Mrs. Dressel will be continuing her education in Early Childhood Special Education at Radford University.
High School Senior Scholarships: Caroline Holland Caroline will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall. Caroline plans to study rehabilitation and disabilities.
Casey Ladd Casey will be attending The University of Virginia in the fall. He plans to study electrical engineering.
Elliott France Elliott will be attending The University of South Carolina in the fall. He plans to study Political Science.
Morgan McKinley Morgan will be attending The University of Virginia in the fall. She plans to study Biology.
The student scholarships are offered to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited college/university or vocational training school; have attended JBD for at least two years; have a minimum GPA of 3.0; and are students in good standing.
